UPDATE: to catch all of you guys up, Thanksgiving at the Harrison house was a hit! For some people spending the whole day cooking for friends and family is exhausting but for us it’s relaxing. My dad took care of the turkey and stuffing while Nicole and I took care of all the sides. The three of us make a great team. Of course it wouldn’t have been such a success without the little help from everyone else. We hope you had as much fun as we did over the holiday. Up next is Christmas and we are already thinking about what we’re going to do. Here is a picture of the feast.
Now that you all have been updated, on to the real reason why you’re here: sweets in the form of cookies.
Peanut butter cookies to be exact, which just so happen to be my favorite. Trying to perfect these cookies has been great because I get to eat all the test batches, with each one being better than the last. For instance, we originally wanted molasses in these but due to some recent baking adventures, we had to find a substitute we already had, leading us to use honey which gives it nice flavor as well as a chewy texture. Also we had very interesting discussions as to what the “ultimate” peanut butter cookie means. Should this cookie be the most peanut butter in a cookie ever or should it be peanut butter with a lot of complementing flavors. In an attempt to create the “ultimate” cookie we ended up with this loaded cookie for the peanut butter and chocolate lover.
We chose to go the complementing flavors route, mainly because of the heath bar crunch, another one of my favorite things. I might have a sweet tooth or something.
We hope you all had a great Thanksgiving and enjoy these peanut butter cookies as much as we do. Also we just hit our 3 year anniversary together. I couldn’t think of anyone else to to spend this adventure with.
