Wait hold on, Maple Bourbon Pumpkin Pie? Yea, you read that right. Take all the amazing things that makes us happy this season and turn it into a pie. What’s not to love? Just look at it!
We did this last year for Thanksgiving at my house and we gathered the recipe from Bon Appetit: Thanksgiving App, while we were looking for ideas. Like all recipes we test, we do it how they say first, then take what we like and do it our way. For this, we liked the chocolate pie crust, the bruleé crust and how it worked with the pie. There is something about the burnt sugar and bourbon that makes a fantastic flavor baby. This pie was gone in all of two minutes last year. This year, we are trying something a little different and here was our test. We added some ground nuts to crust and molasses to the pie itself. If you all haven’t decided on how to do your pie yet, let me suggest this way. It’s a perfect way to end the big meal.
Now be warned, the upcoming recipe is a long one, however we find it easy to produce. So give it a shot and for those of you who will be attending my house for the big event: get excited!
Like I said, this pie was a crowd pleaser for Thanksgiving last year. We had everyone watching us use the torch and burn some pies. Good fun and enteraining is always a plus to great food.
Anyhow, Happy Thanksgiving every one!
